Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Kraft grated parmesan, 16-ounce plastic canister (pack of 3), in the familiar green can, has been a part of the Italian meal tradition for over half a century. For millions of Americans, shaking on the grated Parmesan cheese is the finishing touch that signals permission to share good food in the company of those that you love.

2 out of 5 stars Decoy Parmesan   February 14, 2010

You must be daft

If you think Kraft

Tastes like real Parmesan cheese.

Seems really mixed,

So the flavor's prefixed.

Which totally fails to please.

5 out of 5 stars great price when you subscribe,   May 1, 2009

at 6.60 per pound its a good deal subscribe and save, my local store sells these in 8 oz size for anywhere from 3.99 on sale to 5.99 and that is for the 8 oz size. This is the 16 oz container. good deal. unless you like fresh or off brands.

I'll give Kraft credit where it's due. I think short of growning up in an Italian household, most of us only know parmesan cheese thanks to Kraft. In terms of availability and convenience, Kraft has "all" the others beat. And for the vast majority of North Americans, if you know no better, Kraft is better than fine.

However, if you are willing to forego a little convenience and challenge your tastebuds a little, try buying an inexpensive rotary cheese grater ($5 - $10) and some fresh properly aged parmesan and grate your own. The rewards of the extra effort will be immediate. You won't believe that the two (Kraft and fresh) are even the same category of cheese.

Compared to it's alternative, Kraft Parmesan is expensive, flavourless and just plain lousy. But it will always have a place where convenience matters most.

4 out of 5 stars What can I say, it's the classic parm cheese   August 14, 2008

Ideally, I buy fresh parm from Trader Joes, the parm/romano blend. But, if I run out, I love having this on hand. It's kind of creepy that you can send this stuff in the mail, in the middle of the summer, without being refrigerated, but it still tastes like parm cheese - just not as fresh as freshly grated.

And, the deal with subscribe and save simply cannot be beat. It's way cheaper than any supermarket sale.
